Mac App Store Selling ‘Aperture’ for $79.99

A friend of mine, Duane Burleson, alerted me a few minutes ago that the newly launched Mac App Store is selling Apple’s imaging software, “Aperture”, for $79.99 instead of the $199 it sells for in both Apple’s online store and in its brick-and-mortar locations. (Note: The Mac App Store is available as a free software update, but only for Macs running Mac OS X Snow Leopard.)

My workflow consists of Adobe’s Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 so I won’t be jumping ship, but if someone is contemplating purchasing Aperture, now is the time to act. I’ve heard only good things about Aperture and as far as I can tell, the $79.99 Aperture is not a stripped down version. But I’d let ’em keep the $120 box it comes in!

Call me old fashioned but the day my Internet service is down and one of the files is corrupted it’ll be comforting to know that I can reinstall from a disc in my file drawer rather than cursing my ISP because I can’t access the App Store.

It is definitely a great news for all the "Aperture" user and this is the right time to order the product from the newly opened store if one is planning to buy this Apple’s imaging software. The price tag is less than half its original price. Its unbelievable.

I'm an Aperture user and a big fan, and maybe one of the very few people who see the value in the total package. It's a DVD with sample photos and tutorials, it's a (hard copy) user's guide and, yes, it's a very nice box. Call me old fashioned but the day my Internet service is down and one of the files is corrupted it'll be comforting to know that I can reinstall from a disc in my file drawer rather than cursing my ISP because I can't access the App Store. Cursing my ISP won't solve my software problems (though it does, sometimes, feel good... temporarily. Of course, I still buy music CDs too. JP

You're getting pretty savvy regarding this SEO stuff Mary. You know the value of the "You Comment, I Follow" (info here) feature, but I think you should have made your URL in the comment point to your main site, http://www.marydupriestudio.com.
